I’m Paula Stewart, a proud Orillia resident, local business owner, and passionate community advocate. I’m proud to be a member of Ripple of Kindness and the Orillia Business Women’s Association (OBWA), two organizations that reflect my commitment to supporting, connecting, and strengthening our local community.
I believe being a good representative starts with listening. Local government works best when residents feel heard, respected, and truly represented. I want to be a voice for our community while making sure that voice begins with listening to the people who live, work, and build their lives here.
My experience in business has taught me the importance of hard work, leadership and accountability. It has also taught me that good decisions come from understanding the people they affect and that earning trust means being willing to listen, communicate and follow through.
I’m running for Orillia City Council because I believe Ward 4 deserves a strong, independent voice at City Hall. Someone who will listen to residents, ask tough questions and make decisions based on what is best for our community.
I care about the future of Orillia and the community we are building for the next generation. That means responsible spending, safe and healthy neighbourhoods, supporting local businesses and making sure City Hall remains accountable to the people it serves.
Residents deserve to know how and why their money is being spent. City Hall should be transparent, accountable and focused on serving the people of Orillia. Paula believes residents deserve clear answers, responsible decision making and a government that listens to the community before making important decisions.
Compassion and accountability can go hand in hand. Every resident deserves to feel safe in their neighbourhood. Paula believes Orillia needs practical, compassionate and accountable approaches to homelessness, addiction, public drug use and community safety, while ensuring that residents, businesses and neighbourhoods are not overlooked.
Municipal taxes matter and every dollar should count. Families, seniors and local businesses work hard for their money. Paula believes City spending should focus on the essentials: maintaining infrastructure, delivering reliable services and making investments that provide real, long-term value for residents.
Building a community we can be proud of today and for generations to come. Orillia’s future depends on making thoughtful decisions today. Paula wants to support local businesses, protect the character of our neighbourhoods and encourage responsible growth while keeping Orillia’s long-term future at the centre of municipal decision making.
Paula believes Ward 4 deserves a representative who will listen, ask questions, stand up for residents and follow through. Ward 4 is home to families, seniors, workers, entrepreneurs and neighbours who all have a stake in Orillia’s future. Their voices matter.
Being a councillor isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about listening to the people you represent, doing the homework, asking questions and being willing to challenge decisions when something doesn’t make sense.
I will listen.
I will ask questions.
I will be accountable
And I will never forget who I work for, you.
